I Want to Consign...
So How Do I Start?
Start by making a general assessment of your closet. Include clothes, purses, shoes, belts and duplicates (How many
pairs of khaki pants and black purses do you REALLY need?!)
Good Rules of Thumb:
- If you haven't worn it in 2 seasons, get rid of it
(Don't forget to include those gifts of clothes you have never worn)
- If you have lost weight, don't keep larger size clothes.
Remove the temptations - Consign Them!!
What Do I Do With The Clothes I Am Ready To Get Rid Of?
Once you have made an initial pass of clothing, divide your items into 2 groups:
- Consignment Group
Remember to divide this group into Seasons. Clothes do not need to be on hangers, they can be neatly folded. Please
make sure all clothes are clean and they are not missing buttons or have broken zippers before bringing them in.
- Donation Group
Remember Nursing Homes and Churches are always in need of used clothing. Not sure about a piece of clothing, bring it
in for us to look at.
Now find a place to keep an on-going stack of items you come across so you can add to it on a regular basis (ie - a laundry basket placed in
the corner of the closet). Bring it in anytime you come into Clothesline.
